Condition
Vestibular & Dizziness Physiotherapy in Canberra
Assessment and treatment for cervicogenic (neck-related) dizziness, BPPV screening and balance concerns, working alongside your GP or ENT where required.
Who is this treatment for?
Adults experiencing dizziness, unsteadiness, or a spinning sensation, particularly with neck movement or position change.
What symptoms does it help?
- Dizziness with head or neck movement
- Brief spinning with rolling over in bed (suggestive of BPPV)
- Unsteadiness or 'foggy' balance
- Dizziness with associated neck pain or headache
When should you see a physiotherapist?
If dizziness is recurrent, affecting daily function, or associated with neck pain or headache. Sudden, severe or neurological symptoms need urgent medical review.
What happens during treatment?
Screening to differentiate between vestibular, cervicogenic and other causes, then targeted manual therapy, repositioning manoeuvres or graded exercise as appropriate.
How long does recovery usually take?
BPPV often resolves in 1–3 sessions. Cervicogenic dizziness typically improves alongside neck treatment over 4–8 weeks.
